“ | Maaaaario!” |
— Luigi yelling his brother's name. • Various |
Luigi (ルイージ), sometimes referred to as Green Mario, is the younger, brave brother of Mario and a character who appears in NoPUNintendo, Mario & Luigi and the Something Series. He is known well as one of the heroes who stopped the Speed Demon, along with Kirbo.
Physical Appearance[]
Luigi, like most SA characters, is a simple and less detailed version of his original character. He is very similar to his brother Mario in appearance, but he instead wears a green shirt and cap, has a only two bumps on his mustache and his taller than Mario due the the irregular shape of his head.
(also is his legs longer than Mario, or is Mario just half-crouching all the time)
Abilities[]
Unlike many of the other characters of the Something Series, Luigi has no discernible supernatural or game-breaking abilities. However, among his major powers is his Poltergust 3000, which has massive suction power. He also possesses the ability to exorcise demons using his Holy Bible, as shown in SALM and SASMW. The final scene before the credits sequence of "Something About Smash Bros THE SUBSPACE EMISSARY" reveals that Luigi is a credentialed Christian Minister. The post-credits sequence of Something About Kirby & The Amazing Mirror also suggests that Luigi is also a skilled mechanic.
History[]
In Mario & Luigi's Plumbing Plantastrophe![]
Luigi and his brother are called to fix a broken toilet at Peach's Castle. While Mario is flirting with Peach, Luigi has to fix the toilet. While plumbing the toilet, he then discovers a vine in the bottom, and other vines suddenly sprout from the ground and grab him, while the Naval Piranha comes out while singing. Luigi gets hit in the crotch, escapes and tries to tell Mario what happened, but arrives too late as a vine grabs Peach and goes away. Mario and Luigi chase after the Naval Piranha, but Luigi gets hit by a vine and is sent tumbling into a secret room behind a wall. Inside, there is an Item Box from Mario Kart just next to the Naval Piranha's main body. Luigi tries to get the right item at the right moment and obtains Lightning. Thanks to him, the Naval Piranha gets zapped and explodes just as Mario saves Peach from it's clutches.
In Mario & Luigi's Ultimate Attack![]
The Mario Bros. encounter and fight a Goomba. Luigi and his brother then decide to launch their ultimate attack: Mario stretches Luigi's neck far enough to rocket himself in the Goomba's direction. Instead of hitting the Goomba, Mario lands on a rocky wall and propels himself back to Luigi with his legs. Luigi catches him, the two spin together and change roles; Mario ends up accidentally throwing Luigi into the Sun. Luigi flies through space, blowing the Moon into pieces and straight into the Sun. The Sun becomes green, and starts to evaporate planets, soon heading towards Earth. Mario and the Goomba then watch with horror the damage they've caused from a cliff, as the Luigi Sun slowly destroys the Mushroom Kingdom and turns Toads into Luigis.
In the NoPUNintendo series, Something About Sonic The Hedgehog and Something About GENO FOR SMASH BROS ULTIMATE[]
Luigi only appears in one NoPUNintendo clip, the one being NoPUNintendo - Bruise Like A Peach. In SASTH, Luigi appears in the sequence after the credits, having made up a set for his theories about Mario and the TAS Speed Demon, and receives a call from Kirby. While Jeremey is talking about Geno not being included in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, he shows many photos of the Smash fighters, including Luigi, in SAGFSBU.
In Something About Super Mario 64, Something About Super Mario World, Something About Kirby & The Amazing Mirror, A Very Kirbo Christmas and Something About Smash Bros WORLD OF LIGHT[]
In the post-credit scene of SASM64, Luigi's head is seen has a constellation when Mario Backwards Long Jumps into space. In SASMW, in Something About Smash Bros. WORLD OF LIGHT, he only appears on the cliff with the rest of the Fighters.Luigi, is first found relaxing on the beach with his brother, asking him how he survived his fight against Dharkon. He is later seen, alongside Yoshi, trying to save the eggs and Peach the normal way. In the end, when Mario approaches Peach with violent intentions, Luigi defends her, takes out his Holy Bible, and attempts to exorcise his brother. After the credits of SAKaTAM, Luigi appears working on a time machine, followed Kirby arriving, squealing in joy. Finally, Luigi and Simon spend Christmas with Kirby.
In Something About Luigi's Mansion & Something About Super Mario All-Stars[]
Luigi takes the big role in this episode, this time exploring a haunted mansion to find his lost brother. After venturing deep enough into the mansion, he discovers Mario trapped in a painting, intended to be sacrificed to a demon by King Boo. He manages to save his brother by saying random but effective gibberish to exorcise the demon, and destroys King Boo by slicing him with the painting. In the post-credits scene, he hangs Mario on a wall at Peach's Castle and gets paid by the castle's titular owner for doing it.
In SASMAS, Luigi doesn't appear until the end of the episode, having warped with Kirby into the room where Mario and Peach were located, using the time machine Luigi was working on back during the events post-Something About Kirby & The Amazing Mirror. However, before Luigi and Kirby could act to prevent Mario from causing further damage, the latter BLJ's out the room, leaving Luigi lamenting his failure at a one-time opportunity to catch his brother. After Kirby alerts him of a massive power surge somewhere in the universe, Luigi and his companion hop back inside the machine and warp away, before shortly coming back and slapping Bowser, who just entered the room.
In Something About Super Smash Bros: THE SUBSPACE EMISSARY[]
Luigi takes a very large role in this episode. After failing to catch Mario he goes to the Sarasaland Empire where Daisy gives him Tatanga's ship to use as his time machine. Him and Kirbo locate Mario quickly on the planet where Samus and Slippy were seen in Something About Super Metroid, but the Halberd arrives and Mario escapes in the chaos. They follow the Halberd until Tatanga's ship is destroyed and he, along with everyone is left in the ruins. He opposes Fox shooting Mario and killing him, then Sonic and Mario fight, and after the fight, Luigi and Kirbo capture Mario and frees him from the TAS Speed Demon, hugging him. He is seen after the timelines are reset where he is seen in a secret room only he knows about with many references to the Something Series and Mario Series. Luigi and Kirbo arrive in their time machine to give him a cassette simply labeled "Everything".
